Even a job well done doesn't go without failure, or human error forever.  A failure can lead to something being "Overridden" (Placed in Manual Control) by an operator.  This override may make the system appear to work well when in reality energy use has gone through the roof. Â
Another great example is when the system programming works so well at controlling temperature, you never notice that a part has failed causing more energy use.Â
